Founder Carey Szymanski started Asembl after working at a corporate jewelry manufacturer for many years. She has over 15 years of combined experience in design, merchandising and sales in the fashion industy.
As a designer, Carey traveled extensively where she developed a passion not only for beautiful gemstones, but also unique cultures and their materials. Additionally, she found herself in need of a functional travel bag/tote. Carey had an idea for an attachable and interchangeable handbag line that would blend beautiful fabrics and gemstones. In the summer of 2005 the Asembl concept was born....

The Asembl handbag and accessory line is inspired by the recognition of every woman's individuality, multiple roles, and the need for their expression. Functional yet feminine, the Asembl line is designed for a woman who appreciates quality and timeless beauty.
Smaller handbags attach to larger totes or diaper bags. The smaller bags can be worn alone and embellished with a tassel or genuine stone strap to create a modern, sophisticated evening look. The straps can also be worn as necklaces and complemented with earrings and bracelets from our jewelry collections. 10:00 am Friday - Her smaller bags attach to her diaper bag to allow for easy carrying.
7:00 pm Friday - Baby-sitter with the kids, she's out for a romantic evening with her husband carrying her small bag with a unique gemstone strap.
"The Career Woman"
10:00 am - Her smaller bags carry her personal items and attach to her elegant tote bag which holds her laptop and files.
6:00 PM - Cocktails with clients. She detaches her smaller bag and carries it alone with a stunning tassel attached.
"The Traveler"
10:00 am - She runs through the airport with smaller bags attached to her travel tote. She only has one carry on and is still able to bring what she needs for her travels. No need to pack any extra bags as she has everything she needs to mix and match from day to night.
3:00 PM - Camera in hand, smaller bag attached at her waist, she hails a cab for a day of sightseeing.
